She was born April 27, 1911, in Cory, the daughter of Charles John and Rose Ann (Brock) Kaelber.
She attended Cory High School.
Florence enjoyed crocheting, traveling and was a fantastic cook. She worked and managed several restaurants in the Brazil and Terre Haute area over the years, owning the Hoosier Café and Little Pigs BBQ Restaurant.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Her family was her greatest pride and joy. Florence had been a member of the Brazil First United Methodist Church since 1936.
She was preceded in death by her husband Franklin Eugene Jones in 1962, sons Gerald James (Jim) Jones in 1999, Franklin Jones in 2007, and Earl Jones just three weeks ago, siblings Urba Kaelber, John Franklin Kaelber, James Raymond Kaelber, Charles E. Kaelber, Gladys Kaelber, Ethel Russell, Elsie Meyer and Lois Hughbanks.
Survivors include her children Shirley and husband Jim Lindeman, Terre Haute, Ruth J. Fields, Brazil, Patty J. McWilliams, Brazil, and David L. Jones, Brazil, daughters-in-law Dorothy Jones, Alberta Jones and Debbie Cox, all of Brazil, 22 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and a large extended family.
Services will be Thursday, June 11, 2009, at 11 a.m., at French Funeral Home, with Pastor Tony Alstott officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 10, 2009, from 4-7 p.m., and prior to services on Thursday.
