Staunton First Christian Church News

Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m., with worship service following at 10:30. Doug Parkey is the minister. If you need transportation to morning worship service, phone the church office at 446-3211. The bus is wheelchair equipped.

Children's church and Wee worship meet at 10:30 a.m., in the Educational Building. Sunday evening service and youth groups meet at 6 p.m., and Wednesday evening Bible study and prayer group meet at 7 p.m.

The annual Congregational meeting will following morning worship service Sunday, June 28.

Vacation Bible School is scheduled for July 12-16, from 6-8;30 p.m. VBS is for all children from 3-years-old through sixth-grade.

If you wish to ride the bus to Golden Corral for lunch Monday, meet at the church by 11 a.m.

Congratulations to John and Shirley Whittington on their 50th wedding anniversary June 12.

Our thanks to Doris Pell and Bethany Jones for the special music last Sunday.

Staunton United Methodist Church News

Our Vacation Bible School begins today and ends Friday.

It runs from 6-8 p.m. A week of fun and valuable Christian lessons are planned. All children of the community are welcome to attend.

Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m., with Church service following at 10:30. David Brown is the pastor and his wife Elaine presents the Children's Message. Glenna Simons is the pianist.

Happy 18th birthday to my great-grandson Aaron Aselage July 19.

Remember that the Community Food Pantry is open in the church's basement on the last Wednesday afternoon of each month, from 3-5 p.m. The next food pantry day will be Wednesday, June 24.

Anyone in the Staunton area in need of help is welcome. We truly appreciate the support of Staunton First Christian Church and Staunton Elementary School as well as other churches, civic organizations and individuals in helping to make this needed outreach a success.

Please keep praying for everyone who is battling illness, as well as all the brave men and women of our military and their families. Also remember in prayer all the folks in nursing homes and hospitals and those who have lost loved ones. Go out of your way to be kind to someone and pray for everyone.
