Helicopter Association International (HAI) recently notified AirEvac Lifeteam that the company, which operates a base in Brazil, has received the HAI Operator Safety Award for the year 2008.

The HAI Operator Safety Award annually recognizes the safe operation of helicopters by its regular members. HAI provides the award to regular members whose safety statistics for the previous calendar year demonstrate a helicopter accident rate that is less than half the total of the average accident rate of HAI operator members.

"I want to congratulate each and every employee for the hard work and effort in ensuring the safety of our crewmembers and those entrusted to our care," Director of Safety Dave Hardin said. "The fact that we received this recognition is a testament to the hard work and efforts of each and every member of AirEvac Lifeteam and Texas LifeStar families."

Brazil AirEvac Lifeteam base is located at 481 E. CR 600 N., and has been in service since 2004. Air Evac Lifeteam is a membership-supported air ambulance company that provides emergency care and rapid medical transport to rural communities throughout the central United States.

The company operates 85 air ambulance bases in 14 states and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems.
