Shortly after 1 p.m., Monday, two Brazil residents were injured during a two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of County Road 900 North and CR 100 E (Knightsville Road).

According to information provided by Clay County Sheriff's Deputy John Tilley, Jordan King was traveling west in his Ford F-150 truck on CR 900 N when Mary Tzitz, both of Brazil, pulled out in front of him while traveling south in her Dodge Durango on CR 100 E.

Although King swerved to avoid the collision, he was apparently unsuccessful. King's truck left the roadway and rolled over until it landed onto its top in a field at the southwest corner of the intersection. Tzitz's vehicle stopped came to rest at the edge of the field.

After members of Clay County Search and Rescue and the Van Buren Volunteer Fire Department removed King and his passenger, Jacob Short, Brazil, they were transported by TransCare Ambulance Service to St. Vincent Clay Hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.

Tzitz declined treatment at the scene.

Further details are not available at this time.
