Brazil Concert Band to perform Sunday

The Brazil Concert Band, under the direction of Matthew S. Huber, will present "Salute to the Stars and Stripes," Sunday, at Forest Park, at 8 p.m., rain or shine.

An additional concert will be presented in Greencastle at the Gobin Church Tuesday, July 7, at 7 p.m.

Marches by John Philip Sousa include "Semper Fidelis," "The Liberty Bell," "The U.S. Field Artillery," and "The Stars and Stripes Forever."

All American favorites this week will include "The Fourth of July," and "America," both by John Cacavas, "American Patrol," by Frank Meacham, and "America the Beautiful," arranged by Carmen Dragon.

Also, "Hoagy Carmichael: An American Classic," arranged by James Kessler, "The Princess of India," by Karl King, and "Galop from Genevieve de Brabant," arranged by Col. John Bourgeois, will be performed.

Ha! Like we're surprised there's a Sousa toon in there? (I think Mr. Huber must like Sousa, or something...) This is good entertainment. If you've never seen this, you should attend a couple. Very fine playing. ...and the 4th of July shows and absolutely stunning!
