Norma Jane Grooten, affectionately known as "Miss Jane" or "Mama Jane," by the widows, orphans and others in Nairobi, Kenya, Africa, will be conducting an evening week-long VBS at Crossroads Baptist Church in Brazil, July 6-10.

The Grooten family have been involved in children's ministries for 40 years. Her husband pastored in Northern Michigan for 11 years.

After the death of Pastor Grooten, Miss Jane felt compelled to go to Africa to minister to the many widows and orphans. Her journey has taken her to villages, as well as tea estates, reaching thousands of children and youth.

Being home on furlough until August, she has agreed to assist the VBS, along with her son and his family. Each night, from 6-8 p.m., there will be music, puppets, stories and contests.

All children ages four through sixth grade are invited to attend.

For more information, call 835-9928. The church is located at 201 W. National Ave., Brazil.
