The following is a list of upcoming weekend events provided to The Brazil Times:


From 6-8 p.m., today, More Than A Show, a Christian rock band, will perform at the Brazil Rotary Fourth of July Celebration.

Entertainment and events continue through Saturday as well.

From 2:30-4:30 p.m., children from age 7-under to 15-years-old, may compete in Sack Races, sponsored by Brazil Rotarian John Thomas. The sack races have been part of the annual event for more than three decades.

The Community Theatre of Clay County will perform "A Salute to Broadway, Clay County Style," Saturday, at 8:30 p.m.

As well, Aerial Arts will provide a fireworks show at 10 p.m., Saturday, with musical accompaniment by WSDM, the Crock, 92.7-FM, and the annual grand prize drawing will take place at 11 p.m., Saturday, at Rotary Headquarters.


The Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual Fourth of July Pancake Breakfast Saturday, from 6-11 a.m., at the firehouse located at the corner of County Road 600 North (Airport Road) and CR 200 E (Harmony Road), which is approximately three miles east of State Road 59.

A freewill tax-deductible donation will be appreciated and all donations will be used to support training efforts and purchase equipment.

Starting at 9 a.m., there will be indoor and outdoor demonstrations and other fun events.

Table event

TJ Rescue and Sanctuary Corp., 13445 N. CR 400 W., Brazil, will conduct tabling events at Walmart in July.

The events will take place Saturday and July 11.

Animals will be on hand for adoption. In addition, the organization will have raffle items available as well as literature and special handmade assorted sizes of ball jars with dog and cat treats.

The organization will also be collecting cat food and cat litter both days.
