2009 4-H Fair Queen, Princess pageants slated for July 11

A new Clay County 4-H Queen will be crowned Saturday, July 11, at the annual Clay County 4-H Fair Pageant.

The event will take place at 7 p.m., at the Clay County 4-H Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall.

Last year, Shelby Sands was selected queen and Baileigh Burns was selected princess.

This year, six girls are competing for the queen's crown, including Cami Yocom, Shelby Davis, Whitney Sampson, Hannah Van Horn, Ashley Clarke and Taylor Mikles.

Van Horn is being sponsored by the Jackson Township Farmhands 4-H Club, while Clarke is sponsored by Advantage Construction.

Mikles is sponsored by Reel Worship as Davis is sponsored by Kroger and Sampson is being sponsored by Carbon Heating and Air. In addition, Yocom is being sponsored by 4-Ever Achievers 4-H Club.

This year, eight girls are competing for the princess title, including Saiti Booe, Rebekah Beyers, Emily Sands, Darci Chambers, Taylor Payne, Emma Barnett, Mannah Mace and Larissa Lohrman.

Booe is sponsored by Quality Mulch Products while Beyers is sponsored by the Jackson Township Farmhands 4-H Club and Sands is sponsored by Mayberry Malt and Coffee Shop.
