Michael G. Timko, 64, Brazil, died July 3, 2009, at 8:36 p.m., at his residence following a battle with cancer.

He was born Aug. 8, 1944, in Billings, Mont., the son of Jack Lee Timko and Mildred Loudermilk Timko.

He graduated from Schulte High School, class of 1962.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam.

His family has owned Kelly's Bait and Tackle store on Alabama Street for three generations. After returning home from the service, Mike began working there. He was the sales and distribution person for the state of Indiana.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 2, life-member of the V.F.W. No. 1127, the AM Vets in Rockville and the Moose Lodge in Brazil.

Mike enjoyed fishing, hunting, NASCAR and spending time on the patio at home with family and friends.

On June 28, 1991, he married Beverly Hubble Timko. She survives.

Other survivors include his children Todd Timko, Wyoming, Mich., Michelle Doyle, Brazil, Michael Timko (Christina), Salt Lake City, Utah, and Kari Pell (John), Brazil, stepchildren Lisa Schultz, Terre Haute, Mary Wilma Riddell and Travis Riddell, Brazil, 15 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, sister Jackie Eggarman, Bloomington, brother Fred Timko, Terre Haute, other extended family and a host of friends.

Services will take place Tuesday at 2 p.m., at French Funeral Home, with Rev. Ernie Rush officiating. Pallbearers will include Dale Hubble, Calvin Hubble, Jay Elliott, Bob Mercer, Mike Holland and Don Duncan.

Burial will follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
