Northview graduate Brock Lawson's high school baseball career has one more stop.
The standout Knight has been selected to participate in the 35th Annual Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Series.
Fifty players were selected by the IHSBCA membership and will play a three-game series at the University of Evansville. The series will be played at Braun Stadium on the University of Evansville campus on Friday (doubleheader) and Saturday (wooden bat game).
Last year the South All-Star team won two out of three games when the series was played at Notre Dame. Currently the North leads the series with 54 wins to the South's 45 wins.
Members of the North and South squads will check in Thursday morning before getting the chance to get acquainted during a workout that afternoon. In the evening, a banquet will be held at 6 p.m. and the IHSBCA Player of the Year will be announced.
West Vigo's Jeremy Lucas is also a southern all-star along with Lawson and Cascade hurler, Conner Guthrie.
Lawson led the Northview pitching staff this season with 52 1/3 innings pitched and an 8-0 record and a 0.94 ERA. Lawson struck out 94 batters while walking only 17 and allowing just 29 hits.
In the past, several members of the All-Star squads have been drafted by professional baseball clubs and many have been awarded college baseball scholarships.
This year, the South All-Stars have a pair of players that were drafted by major league baseball teams. West Vigo's Lucas was drafted along with Southport third baseman, Cameron Perkins. North All-Star pitcher, Kyle Kramp of Westfield was also drafted in June.
On Friday, there will be a junior showcase held at the University of Southern Indiana at 9 a.m. with batting practice for the North and South teams at 1 p.m. at Braun Stadium. The first game is scheduled for 3 p.m.
Saturday's wooden bat game is slated for 11 a.m.
