A memorial service for Connie Diane Schopmeyer will take place Saturday, July 11, at 2:30 p.m., at the Center Point United Methodist Church Family Life Center. Rev. Myron James will officiate.

Connie was born July 6, 1960, to Michael and Suellen Schopmeyer.

She passed away at her parents' home in Holiday, Fla., Dec. 24, with her family around her.

Connie graduated from Clay City High School in 1978, where she was active in drill team, band, volleyball and various clubs.

Connie enjoyed showing sheep throughout her 10 years of 4-H.

Connie continued being an active member of her community. She often volunteered to help with charitable organizations.

Most recently, she served as a volunteer for the Ronald McDonald House in Greenville, S.C.

Connie was preceded in death by her husband William Black, July 13, 2007, Connie's grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Joe Collins and Mr. and Mrs. Vernice Schopmeyer, along with brother-in-law Jim Harrison.

Connie is survived by her daughter Jacquie Weber, Atlanta, Ga., parents, sisters Kimberly Phillips, Lori Harrison, Joyce Schopmeyer and two special brothers Brian Schopmeyer and Joe Schopmeyer, nephews Brigham Phillips and Tyler Harrison, along with niece Whitney Burger and great-niece Hailee Burger.

Connie was cremated in Florida and her remains will be buried at the Brown Cemetery in Center Point following the memorial service.
