Anita Laverna Turner, 88, Brazil, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at St. Vincent Clay Hospital.

She was born Sept. 23, 1920, to Harry and Mary (Maesch) Fears.

Mrs. Turner spent most of her life raising and caring for her family. She enjoyed fishing and gardening and camping. She also enjoyed sewing and craft making.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands Erwin Smith and Russell Turner, son Ted Smith, and brothers Joe Fears and Harold Fears.

Survivors include grandchildren Ted B. Smith Jr., Bloom-ington, Ind., Penni Campbell and husband Mike, Center Point, and Tina Weber and husband Robert, Clay City, great-grandchildren Jeremy Smith, Derek Smith, Joel Campbell and wife Kristi, Katie Campbell, Dana Weber and Dakotah Weber, great-great-grandchildren Alexandria Smith, Chase Campbell and Alan Smith, and sisters-in-law Bernice Shosser and Marjorie Bennett.

Services will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel Saturday, July 11, 2009, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Tom Hess officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home, Saturday, from 11 a.m. until time of services.
