The following is a list of events scheduled to take place this weekend as provided to The Brazil Times:
Area residents are currently collecting new or used squirt guns to send to soldiers stationed in Iraq due to extreme temperatures.
The squirt guns will be for soldiers in the 138th Quartermaster, stationed at the Brazil Armory.
A box was set up at the YMCA of Clay County Friday and concluding Saturday, July 25.
The squirt guns will be sent to the soldiers July 27.
Due to a lack of volunteers and interest, the Brazil Ward 3 clean-up day scheduled for today has been canceled.

House of Hope, 5525 W. United States 40, Brazil, will conduct its annual summer fundraiser Saturday.
The annual yard sale will begin at 8 a.m. and conclude at dusk. A barbecue dinner will begin at noon.

The Dick Johnson Volunteer Fire Department, 1200 N. and 200 W., Brazil, will host an ice cream social from 3-7 p.m., Saturday.
Homemade ice cream with many flavors to choose from will be available.
Donations will be welcomed.
Celebrating 50 years of service, the Poland Volunteer Fire Department will have an all-you-can-eat Jonah Fish Fry at the firehouse from 4-8 p.m., Saturday.
Dinner will include fish, choice of two sides and drink for $7 for adults and $3.50 for children.
There will also be a slide show of the department's past 50 years.
In addition, AirEvac will be there and door prizes will be handed out.
A 50/50 drawing will take place along with raffles, local yard sales and live entertainment by Matt Hicks.
A Community Yard Sale, sponsored by the Poland Lions Club, has also been scheduled for 3-8 p.m. Set up is free and vendors are welcome.
The firehouse is located at 3940 Bowling Green-Poland Road, off State Road 42.
Booth spaces are available.

The Jackson Township Fire Department will conduct a teen summer dance from 6 p.m.-midnight, Saturday.
The event will take place at the firehouse, located at 1930 E. County Road 600 N.
There will be games and snacks in addition to the dance.
Prices are $5 for the dance only, $10 for the games only and $15 for both the dance and games.
Parents and guardians are welcome to stay and enjoy the evening.

All scrapbookers are welcome to the Crop and Swap at the Brazil Public Library at 6 p.m., Saturday.
