The incoming freshmen class at Northview High School is encouraged to attend Freshmen Orientation Thursday.
The evening's events begin at 5 p.m., with a social sponsored by the upperclassmen.
Students are to be dropped off by a parent or guardian and then meet with fellow students in the cafeteria.
Parents are asked to return to the school at 6:30 p.m., for the remainder of the evening's events. Students and parents will be introduced to members of the faculty and staff, the common fears associated with transitioning to a new school and how to cope with them.
Students will have the opportunity to tour the school, receive their class schedules and locker assignments. Students will also receive a list of clubs, sports and other activities that they can become involved in.
