The annual Clay County Farm Bureau meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 25, at the Clay County 4-H Fairgrounds.
All members, both voting and associate, are invited to attend.
Lois Bixler will cater the buffet meal. Cost is $5 per person. However, reservations must be turned in to the county office by Aug. 20. Reservations are needed by the caterer.
To make a reservation, call the county office at 446-2521 or 1-800-616-7209.
The Young Farmers of Indiana have -- as a project -- decided to gather items for the food pantries in their county. The cost of this year's meal was reduced so it is suggested those attending the meeting to bring a donation of canned goods or paper products.
The speaker for this year's meeting will be Rep. Bob Cherry. He has been a member of the Indiana House of Representatives since 1998. He has had the opportunity to serve the state in many ways since being elected and holds one of the top positions in the House by serving as the Assistant Majority Caucus Chair.
He sits on the Technology, Research and Development Committee along with the Fiscal Committee, Ways and Means.
He received his degree from Purdue University and remains involved in Boilermaker activities. He is married to Deborah Tilley and together they have five sons and nine grandchildren.
The county office currently has a contract with Air Evac and any Farm Bureau member that signs up for Air Evac will receive a $10 discount on their membership.
