Howard Lee Gieseking, 53, Brazil, died Aug. 21, 2009, at 4:30 a.m., at his residence.

He was born march 22, 1955, in Clay County, the son of Wilbur Robert Gieseking and Zetta Vanatti Gieseking. He graduated from Brazil High School. In the past, he had worked as an automobile mechanic and had been a guard at the Putnamville Correctional Facility. He also served in the Army National Guard 1975-77.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Nancy Gieseking and brother Steve Gieseking.

Survivors include his wife Peggy Sue Hammock Gieseking, Brazil, sons Eric Gieseking, Robert Gieseking and wife Kathy, and Jessie Gieseking and girlfriend Brittney Bishop, daughter Terra Gieseking and boyfriend William Smith, all of Clay County, grandchildren Steven, Zanerkand, Cameron, Robert, Dustin and Kaylenn, brother Theodore Gieseking and wife Clementine, Indianapolis, and sister-in-law Judy Gieseking, Brazil, and other extended family.

Services will take place Tuesday at 1 p.m., at the Lawson-Miller Chapel.

Cremation will follow with burial of the remains at a later date.

Visitation will be Tuesday, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., at the funeral home.
