DANVILLE -- The Northview tennis team won its second straight match on Tuesday evening, defeating Danville on the road 3-2.

The Knights got a 6-0, 6-2 win by Caleb Mershon at No. 2 singles and a 6-3, 6-0 win by Joey Thomas at No. 3 singles.

"Mershon looked good from the start, attacking and hitting put aways at the net," coach Mark Orr said of his singles' player. "Thomas had another good outing."

In doubles action, Sam Miller and Dillon Reynolds clinched the team win with a three-set victory, 6-1, 1-6, 6-1.

"Miller and Reynolds looked in control the first set, but self destructed in the second set before coming back focused and pulled it out when it counted," Orr said. "Our doubles teams continue to get better. The more they play together the better they will get an understanding of where the other is on the court and what to expect. Dillon and Sam came thru big."

Carson Kleiber dropped his singles match by a 6-2, 6-1 score and the No. 1 doubles team of Trent Sims and Caleb Andrews lost a 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 decision.
