RUSHVILLE -- The state-ranked Columbus North Bulldogs dominated Saturday's cross country meet at Rushville.

The sixth-ranked boys took the top six spots in the individual race on the way to a perfect score of 15 in the meet. The fifth-ranked girls' team has just as much success, placing six of the top-seven positions to win the meet with 17 points.

Northview's Conor Strain was the first person to break up the Bulldog boys' monopoly of the top spots, scoring a seventh-place finish in 16:54 to lead the Knights to a 10th-place finish out of 14 teams.

The Northview girls were paced by sophomore Alyssa Conrad with a 16th-place in 21:29 as the Knights placed eighth overall.

Evan Scruton of Columbus North claimed the boys' title in 16:14 with the Bulldogs' Jessica Richardson winning the girls' race in 19:52.

Tanner Brown got back into competition and was the second Northview competitor to cross the line, finishing 57th in 19:49. He was followed by Ryan South in 58th (19:55), Patrick Durcholz in 63rd (20:20), Kyle Yocom in 71st (21:00) and Christian Swan with a time of 23:29 in 88th.

"This was not the greatest meet for us as far as individual time, but I was pleased with how we competed in such a large race," coach Chad Smith said. "It was also good to get Tanner Brown back into meets."
