SULLIVAN -- The Northview Knights repeated as Western Indiana Conference golf champions on Saturday afternoon at the Sullivan Elks Golf Course.

The Knights outscored the second-place Owen Valley Patriots by 41 strokes with a score of 404 to the Patriots 445. South Vermillion placed third with 448 to edge Sullivan's 449 followed by Edgewood (452), West Vigo (479) and Brown County, which had no competitors.

"I thought for the most part we played pretty well," coach Josh Trout said. "Mandy (Thomlinson) came through with a very solid score at a difficult course really, especially for girls. You can get in a lot of trouble out of bounds and with hazards and both Hayley (Miller) and Mandy came in with solid scores."

Sullivan's Alisha Lowery shot an 84 to earn medalist honors, but the Knights placed four members on the All-WIC team led by Mandy Thomlinson's 94 and Hayley Miller's 98. Olivia Oehler shot a 102 and Allison Trout carded a 110 to each be named all-conference. Shelby French shot a 114 to round out the scoring for the Knights.

Olivia played well, but she just had a couple of holes that were costly to her score, but still finished well enough to earn all-conference honors and helped out the team along with Ali Trout, who also made all-conference," Trout said. "Shelby came in with a decent score too and shot better on the back-nine than she did on the front. She was the only girl to do that and made the top-15, which barely missed all-conference.

"Overall I thought we played pretty solid and I was proud of the effort and especially since that's three-in-a-row (WIC titles) for these seniors," Trout added. "All three have been varsity golfers for three years and that was a good finish for their senior season, winning it again."

On Monday night, Northview struggled against visiting Cascade at Forest Park Golf Course, falling 202 to 195.

The Knights' Hayley Miller and Cadets' Jessica Smith carded a 44 for medalist honors.

Olivia Oehler shot a 48 for Northview, Mandy Thomlinson added a 53 followed by a 57 from both Allison Trout and Shelby French. Hillary Thomas shot a 61 and Kylee Orr had a 64.

The Knights travel to Edgewood on Thursday evening.
