Knights win four-of-five matches against Tiger Cubs

GREENCASTLE -- The Northview boys' tennis team defeated Greencastle 4-1 on the road Wednesday, with its only loss coming in No. 2 doubles action.

The Knights cruised in singles action, dropping just three games along the way.

Carson Kleiber dominated the No. 1 singles match with Joey Kass, winning 6-0 and 6-0. Caleb Mershon was equally impressive at No. 2 singles with his 6-0 and 6-1 win over Greencastle's Landon Miller. Trent Sims rounded up the Northview singles sweep by defeating Tiger Cub Ben Wilson in straight sets 6-3 and 6-0.

After battling to a first set victory of 6-3 over Greencastle's Kenny Buchanan and Matt Hendrich, Caleb Andrews and Joey Thomas seized control and took the second set 6-0 for the match.

Northview dropped the No. 2 doubles match 7-5 and 6-0. Daniel Eaglin and Tyler Travis fought hard in the first set, but A.J. Gerrad and Cy Spencer dug in and closed out the second set for the win.

The Knights will host Sullivan today at 5 p.m.
