North Clay volleyball sweeps past Vikings

North Clay's volleyball teams all earned wins on Thursday night, traveling to West Vigo to score a victory.

The sixth-grade Knights won 25-9, 25-10 and got a seven-point effort from Morgan Stearley and six from Beanan Dove followed by Kaytlin Galloway, who had five points for North Clay. Madison McDonald added in five for the Knights followed by Taliegh Taylor with four. Madison Trusty, Gracie Timberman and Zoe Orman each had a kill.

In the seventh-grade contest, North Clay took a 23-25, 25-10, 15-4 victory as Whitney Halfhill scored eight points with three kills and Taylor Hess contributed seven points with three aces. Kenzi Kumpf chipped in with another six points and three service aces followed by Hannah Minor's five points with an ace. Mannah Mace, Deaven McCrocklin, Shea Britton, Abbey Timberman and Lainey Latham each had three points. Mace, McCrocklin and Britton all had kills. Madison Nevins had two points.

In the eighth-grade game, North Clay won 25-9, 25-16 as Emily Pollard had five points and an assist with Lorrie LaTourette adding two kills. Jami Warner had four points and Audrey Clark contributed three assists and an ace. Shelbi Morris had three points with a kill and Lindsey Potter had two kills and two points. Kayla Watson had two points and a kill and Libby Deckard served up three points for the Knights followed by three from Lesli Ringo and eight from Andi Harting.

The Knights are back in action on Monday against Sarah Scott at 6 p.m.
