Area United Way sets up fundraising session for nonprofits

Sunday, September 13, 2009

TERRE HAUTE -- In partnership with The Fund Raising School at the Indiana University Center on Philanthropy, the United Way of the Wabash Valley and the Indiana Nonprofit Resource Network are bringing a fundraising session to nonprofits.

Fund Raising for Small Nonprofits is a two-day workshop, being present from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Sept. 16-17. The event will take place at Corporate Square (large conference room), 2901 Ohio Blvd., Terre Haute. Cost is $95.

The two-day course will focus on techniques for smaller shops and smaller budgets. Participants will learn how to build a convincing case for financial support, select the donors and markets, choose the right fundraising vehicles, inspire the leadership potential of volunteers and create a fundraising process that works, but is attainable with limited resources.

Participants will receive a comprehensive easy-to-use Study Guide with models for future reference, a chance to network with other professionals dealing with similar challenges, hands on experience in planning special events and interactive training on how to ask for support.

Space is limited to 50 participants. Registration is on a first-come-first-serve basis. There is still time to register.

For more information or to register for the workshop, call 1-765-413-6049 or e-mail west@inrn.org.
