Activities planned for Northview Homecoming

Sunday, September 13, 2009

Northview High School will celebrate 25 years of existence Friday at the school's 2009 homecoming, when the Knights face Owen Valley.

Several activities have been planned for the event prior to the start of the game, including Nelson's Famous Port-A-Pit Golden Glow Chicken, which will serve food during festivities.

From 4:30-7 p.m., in the north parking lot, one-half a chicken, baked beans, potato salad, rolls, butter and drink -- all prepared by Nelson's professional catering staff on their rolling port-a-pit, will be available.

Cost is $7 per person. Those interested in reserving an order of the chicken Friday evening should call 448-2661 Ext. 1257 by Wednesday morning.

Nelson's Port-A-Pit serves more than one million chicken dinners every year.

Other events planned for the 25th celebration Friday include an alumni tent, the dinner, inviting past teachers and principals back for the festivities, a bounce house, six-eight carnival games and paint darts.

The game between the Knights and Patriots is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
