Knights compete at Eagle Classic

NASHVILLE -- In the Eagle Classic held at Brown County on Saturday, third-ranked Columbus North came away with the boys' team title with 41 points to beat out second-ranked Terre Haute North's 61. The girls' race was won by the fourth-ranked Columbus North Bulldogs with a total of 45 points.

Terre Haute North freshman, Chanli Mundy, won the girls race in 18:44 to pace the Patriots to a third-place as a team. Terre Haute North's John Mascari won the boys' race in 15:30.

Senior Conor Strain led the boys' for Northview in a time of 16:46 to place 34th. Tanner Brown was the next Knights' runner to finish with a time of 19:09 in 151st and Ryan South was next to stop the clock at 19:09 and 152nd. Patrick Durcholz was 197th in 20:28 followed by Kyle Yocom in 199th and Christian Swan in 218th.

In the girls race, Northview was led by Alyssa Conrad's 55th-place finish in 21:19 and got a 109th-place from senior Corey Laue In 22:49 as Northview finished in 16th overall.

Nicole Nelson was 127th in 23:21 and Tori Rohrabaugh finished in 25:04 for 171st and Maeghan Pilman placed in 176t in 25:19. Hallie Harbison was 181st in 25:34 and Eileen Stinnett finished in 186th with a time of 26:02.

In the junior high meet, North Clay eighth-grader Nic Yocom remained a force as he won the meet in a course record breaking time of 9:58, 14 seconds better than the previous best.

Ian Heffner finished 10th in 10:49 as North Clay finished 7th out of 23 teams with 198 points. Honey Creek was the overall winner with 101 points. North Clay also got a 48th from Travis Beil (11:50), a 74th from Cam Trout (12:08) and a 75th-place form Brendan Morris (12:11). Josh Johnson placed 89th in 12:27, Gaidj Evans was 154th in 13:36, Dawson Nelson finished in 13:55 with a 168th-place. Christian Herron was 176th in 14:07, Brennen Pilman was 180th in 14:12. John Fisher ran in the open race and finished in 16:37.

In the girls meet, North Clay was led by Emily Conrad's eighth-place finish in 12:23 and got a 13th-place from Allie Dupin with a time of 12:36 and Leeanna Knight was 74th in 13:54. Kaysia Reberger was 87th in 14:16 followed by Olivia Howald in 118th in 14:56 and Brittany Fagg was 127th in 15:05 as the team finished 10th out of 20 teams as Otter Creek won with 61 points.

Northview hosts its annual invitational at Craig Park on Tuesday.
