* The Brazil High School class of 1953 will have a 56th year reunion on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 1-3 p.m., at Goodie's Galore's new location, 2109 W. US 40, Brazil.
* The Thompson Family Reunion will take place at the Thompson Family Park at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 27. A business meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 26. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish and a Bingo gift.
* The Brazil High School class of 1954 will have their 55th class reunion on Saturday, Oct. 10, starting at 6 p.m., at the Clay County YMCA. RSVP to Kay Wegner, 1340 E. CR 700 N., Brazil, IN 47834.
The annual Dayton Family Reunion was held on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009 at the Fowler Park Barn near Terre Haute. The day started out cloudy with rain, but it ended up a lovely fall day for all of us to enjoy. Darren Sluder gave the blessing on the meal. There were several special dishes for all to enjoy.
The afternoon was spent catching up on family news, a lively game of corn hole, games for the kids and the use of the playground. We also enjoyed taking pictures of the families and friends. Late in the afternoon, coffee and dessert were enjoyed by all.

The Megenhardt family celebrated 156 years in America at their 69th reunion held on Aug. 23, at Forest Park in Brazil. A delicious carry-in meal was shared by 61 family members and a guest.
There was a special announcement the the family now has its first centenarian. Florence Megenhardt Williams celebrated her 100th birthday on March 30, 2009 in Indianapolis. She is the daughter of the late Oliver and Olive (Stickles) Megenhardt and grew up in Coal City. She was unable to attend.
The oldest family member present was John David Megenhardt, age 82. There were three new babies attending their first reunion: twins Hannah and Mary Megenhardt and Marlee Duncan.
Descendants from four branches of the William and Barbara Megenhardt family were in attendance. Present from the William Megenhardt branch were Rosemary and Ron Killion. In attendance from the Ellen (Megenhardt) Travis branch were Roy, LaVonne and Joe Waldron, Vic and Theada Morris and Bud and Donnetta Travis.
The David Megenhardt branch once again had the largest attendance as follows: David and Deloris Megenhardt; Wayne and Peggy Burger; Terrence, Mahala, Deven and Kamryn Burger, Larry and Darlene Megenhardt; James, Cindy, Hannah and Mary Megenhardt; Paul, Ginger, Steven and Megan Singleton; John, Penny and Michael Megenhardt; Bryce and Brianna Greenman; Jena and Chad Braun; Howard and Grace Dunigan, Grcg, Jamic, Hayden and Dietrich Dunigan; Tom, Danette and Kirstin Robinson; Darral and Dona Duncan; JR, Tonya and Taylor Prentice; Pat, Michael, Marian and Marlee Duncan; Jenn O'Brien; Bill, Kristie, Kelsie and Jarrett Megenhardt.
Attending from the Charles Megenhardt branch were Kenny, Judy, Caroline and Mary Sebastian.
Officers for the coming year are Larry Megenhardt, President; Peggy Burger, Vice-President; Judy Sebastian, Secretary/ Treasurer, and Darlene Megenhardt, Drink committee.
President Larry Megenhardt encouraged everyone to attend the 70th reunion which will be held on Aug. 22, 2010 at Forest Park in Brazil. Following the business meeting, Penny Megenhardt took group pictures and people headed home on a chilly August afternoon.
