Linda Smith, 69, Indianapolis, formerly of Brazil, passed away at Wishard Hospital, Indianapolis, Tuesday Sept. 15, 2009, following an extended illness.
She was born July 13, 1940, the daughter of Ernest and Kathryn (Cox) Dodson. Linda attended Mansfield High School. She married James Smith April 4, 1958. She enjoyed caring for her family, dancing, watching movies and listening to music.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James Smith and three siblings.
Survivors include her children Beverly Layne, Brazil, James E. Smith Jr. and wife Brenda, Indianapolis, Delores Smith, Brazil, Edward E. Smith and wife Kimberly, Greenwood, and Rose Smith, Indianapolis, 26 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 15 siblings as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Services will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel, Brazil, Brazil, Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday, from 4-8 p.m.
