Around 2 a.m., Friday, John Gerrard, 23, was taken into custody after an anonymous caller reported a domestic disturbance at a residence on North Murphy Avenue.
According to information provided by the Clay County Sheriff's Department, Deputy Josh Krause investigated the incident in which Gerrard allegedly battered a female victim and injured an unidentified male juvenile when trying to get into the home during an altercation.
The male juvenile was transported to St. Vincent Clay Hospital for treatment and later released. No information was available for the female victim.
Gerrard was taken into custody and transported to the Clay County Justice Center where he was booked on preliminary charges of domestic battery, criminal recklessness, strangulation, criminal confinement and interfering with reporting a crime.
Further details are unavailable due to the continuing investigation and officials believe more charges could be filed after a case review by the Clay County Prosecutor's Office.
Jail officials confirmed Gerrard was incarcerated at the CCJC Friday evening on a $7,000 cash bond awaiting formal charges per the court calendar.
