Eels down Eminence in three games

EMINENCE -- The Clay City Eels picked up a victory on the road at Eminence on Thursday evening, 25-20, 25-13, 25-18.

The victory bumps the Eels overall record to 10-5.

Kelly McCullough had a big game with five points, two aces, three digs, nine assists, three kills and a block in the victory while teammate, Lynsey Higgins added 10 points from the service line with three digs, five kills and two blocks. Brielle Drelick led the squad with seven kills and Shelby Hane added two points, two aces, two digs and four kills. LaKyla Cook recorded seven points with six digs, two assists a kill and two blocks, Olivia Schindler had two points and four assists and Callie Dayhuff produced three kills and two digs with a kill.

In the JV match, Clay City rang up a 25-19, 25-5 victory over Eminence as Shaya Stevenson had 10 assists, eight digs, five points and a pair of aces. Meeghan Riggs contributed six aces and five kills and Asie Jeffers added seven digs. Madison Jackson had a pair of digs on defense as Chloe Kittle added two of her own to go with four kills, Halli Brewer had four points a kill, a block and two aces and MacKenzie McKittrick had a dig.

The JV record is now 9-4 with both squads traveling to South Vermillion on Tuesday evening.
