The Northview tennis team continued its second half surge by claiming the championship of its own invitational on Saturday afternoon.
The Knights had three individual champions as Caleb Mershon was the winner at No. 2 singles, beating his New Castle opponent, 6-1, 6-1.
"Caleb Mershon played mistake free and set a fast pace in winning his third title in three years," coach Mark Orr commented.
The Knights were also winners at both doubles spots as Joey Thomas and Caleb Andrews teamed to win a 7-6, 6-2 decision against Washington in the championship match.
"Joey and Caleb continue to play well together," Orr said. "They compliment each other with their style of play."
In the No. 2 doubles title match, Dillon Reynolds and Sam Miller teamed to win over New Castle by a 6-2, 6-4 score.
"Sam and Dillon are playing their best tennis right now," Orr said. "It is good to see with sectionals coming up."
The tennis sectional begins on Wednesday at Northview High School with Greencastle, South Putnam, Owen Valley and Linton all participating.
