TERRE HAUTE -- Brazil resident Johanna Moore was crowned Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Homecoming queen by President Matt Branam Friday evening prior to the school's pep rally.

Moore, a junior applied biology major, is the daughter of Dan and Jenny Moore, and is a graduate of Northview High School.

She was nominated by members of Baue-Sames-Bogart residence hall, where she is a resident assistant.

She is a member of Rose-Hulman's Student Alumni Association, Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity, Society of Women Engineers, Residence Hall Association and the Office of Admissions' A-Team.

She is a dean's list student and plans on furthering her education after graduation by obtaining a master's degree in animal sciences.

Johann's crowning made homecoming an even more special occasion for the Moore family. Her father, Dan, was also given honorary alumni status in the Rose-Hulman Alumni Association during the homecoming alumni awards breakfast.

He is associate dean of faculty and professor of electrical and computer engineering at Rose-Hulman.

I was a RA in BSB in '73-74 and I don't think I or any of the other RA could have won the Homecoming crown...oh wait it was all male! Congratulations on the win. It was good to see a Rosie win instead of a Woodsie or a Tree.
