The Clay County Sheriff's Department is looking for information concerning a criminal mischief incident that destroyed a portion of a cornfield in rural Clay County early Sunday morning.

According to Clay County Sheriff Mike Heaton, deputies are investigating a criminal mischief report involving at least three all terrain vehicles (ATVs) and possibly a full-size vehicle that damaged a cornfield located on State Road 42 in an area between Sonnefield Road and County Road 475 East some time around 6 a.m.

"The property owner discovered one of the ATVs, which was later identified as reported stolen from Hendricks County," Heaton said. "We're looking for those who were involved. If anyone has any information about this incident, please contact us."
