TERRE HAUTE -- The Crossroads of America Council of the Boy Scouts of America will conduct its annual popcorn sale from now until Nov. 7.
The popcorn sale features 70 percent of the proceeds remaining in the Wabash Valley to benefit scouts in the local area.
Items begin at $10 and will be available from boys traveling door-to-door throughout the community or at various locations during the next month.
Individuals can also provide a military donation to send popcorn treats to military and their families.
The Crossroads of America Council currently serves more than 33,000 scouts across 25 central Indiana counties. The Wabash Valley District is one of 13 districts in the Crossroads of America Council and is made up of Vigo, Vermillion, Clay, Putnam, Sullivan and Parke counties.
More than 2,100 scouts and more than 900 volunteers are involved annually in Wabash Valley District activities, including 674 scouts that attended a summer camp experience in 2008.
