They've stood on top all season.

For the fourth week in a row, the Northview Marching Knights own the top spot in the Class B band poll.

The Knights received 119 votes in this week's poll, seven of which were for first.

Jasper came in second with 113 votes and the remaining first-place vote.

Both bands were in the same spots last week.

DeKalb ranks third, followed by New Castle Chrysler, Greenwood, Northridge, Plainfield, Concord, Zionsville and Floyd Central.

Other bands receiving votes included Mt. Vernon (Fortville), North Side, Bloomington North, East Noble, New Palestine, F.J. Reitz and Lowell.

DeKalb moved up one spot from last week, as did Northridge. Zionsville is new to the top 10. New Castle, Greenwood, Concord and Floyd Central all fell in the rankings.

The Knights have held the top spot in the rankings since the preseason poll came out Sept. 7.

Clay City competes in Class D and received 18 votes in the poll this week.

Springs Valley ranks first in Class D with 120 votes, followed by Lewis Cass, North Posey, Forest Park, Woodlan, Paoli, Bluffton, Orleans, Monrovia and Southridge.

Other Class D bands receiving votes this week included Morristown, Adams Central, Tell City, Pioneer, Garrett, Eastern (Greentown), Triton Central and South Spencer.

Last week, the Imperial Regiment received 30 votes in the poll, but fell out of the top 10. Clay City ranked ninth in the Sept. 14 poll and 10th in the Sept. 7 poll.

Both the Marching Knights and Imperial Regiment will compete in District contests this weekend at Southport High School.

Clay City will begin competition at 11:13 a.m. The only other Class D band at Southport Saturday is Riverton Parke.

Northview hits the field at 1:23 p.m., and will compete against Mooresville, Plainfield (ranked in a tie for sixth this week), Greenwood (fifth) and Whiteland.

Following District, Clay City will compete at the Ben Davis Invitational, while Northview will take part in an invitational at Center Grove High School.

Regional contests are scheduled for Oct. 17. If both bands make it through District, they will compete in Evansville at the Regional Level.

Semistate events are scheduled for Oct. 24, with the state finals taking place Oct. 31, at Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis.
