North Clay sweeps Panthers

North Clay's volleyball teams swept past Riverton Parke on Wednesday evening, winning in the sixth, seventh-and eighth-grade contests.

The sixth-grade match went to the Knights, 25-20, 25-9 as both Gracie Timberman and Morgan Stearley each served up six points. Madison McDonald had four points and Ashley Heck posted three points along with Madison Trusty.

The win moves the sixth-grade to 10-1 this season.

In the seventh-grade match, North Clay won a 25-7, 25-11 match against the Panthers.

Ramey Miller had a 10-point game, Whitney Halfhill added five points and four aces while Taylor Hess had five points with two aces. Kenzie Kumpf also had five points and served up three aces and Kenzie Mager had four points with two aces. Sydney Buell served three points, Shea Britton had two along with Gracie Geswein and both Hannah Minor and Lainey Latham each had a point.

Kills in the match came from Mikayla Rowan, Halfhill and Britton. Mannah Mace had two assists in the victory and Madison Nevins had one in the match.

The seventh-grade remained undefeated with a 14-0 mark.

In the eighth-grade match, North Clay posted a 25-14, 25-9 victory led by six points and two aces from Jade Mills. Lorrie LaTourette had five points with a kill and Shelby Timberman added five points with two aces and an assist.

Emily Pollard had a balanced effort with two aces in a three-point night and added an assist. Jami Warner added three points with an ace and Libby Deckard had three points with a kill. Liz McVeigh scored five points from the service line, Kayla Watson had two points along with Andi Harting.

Audrey Clark had two assists with a kill, Shelbi Morris had an assist and three kills, Paige Stevenson added a kill and Lindsey Potter contributed an assist.

The eighth-grade is now 13- overall.
