She was born June 22, 1911, in Clay County, the daughter of Rev. Charles A. and Elsie Lantz Brush.
She graduated from Brazil High School. She attended the Nazarene Church, in Brazil, since she was 11-years-old. She had devoted much of her life to the church having served in all capacities, except preacher. Opal married James "Bo" E. Fox in August 1937. He passed away after 47 years of marriage. Opal married Rev. Byron Conner eight years later. He also preceded her in death 9 years later. She loved singing and playing the piano. She would like to be remembered as someone who gave the world a smile.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands James "Bo" Fox and Rev. Byron Conner, brothers, Ray Brush and Donald Brush, sister Mildred Malsom and Sara Buck.
She is survived by her son Gary Fox, Brazil, step-children Danny and wife Phyllis, Evelyn and husband Harold, Lois and husband Forrest grandchildren, Michael Fox, Patrick Fox, Ashley Fox, and Heather O'Neal, six great-grandchildren, Alexander Fox and Hannah O'Neal, Violet Fox, Colin O'Neal, Sebastian Fox, and Gabe Fox, all of Florida, three sisters, Margaret E. Brown and husband Everett, Bertie Lou Stimpson and husband Robert, one brother, Charles Robert Brush and wife Charlotte and brother-in-law James Buck as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Funeral services will be at French Funeral Home, Oct. 12, 2009, at 1 p.m., with Brother Rick Wetnight and Brother Gary Bechtel officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11 a.m., until time of services.
