TERRE HAUTE -- The Wabash Valley Fair Association will host the first Valley Bash this weekend.
The event will feature three days of entertainment.
A swap meet and flea market will take place outdoor at the Outdoor Pavilion at the Vigo County Fairgrounds.
In addition, a car show will take place Saturday and the Central Indiana Gun and Knife Show will be in the Commercial Exhibit Hall Saturday and Sunday.
Entertainment will begin at 7 p.m., today, with Stanford's Redneck Lawn Mower Derby. The two-and-a-half hour competition will feature several heats and a "Powder Puff" division.
All tickets will be $5 with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of Terre Haute.
Derby action continues with the car and truck demolition derby Saturday at 5 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children 12-under. Both events will be hosted by Party Marty and the CROCK 92.7-FM radio station. Tickets will be available one hour prior to the event start times at the Wabash Valley Fairgrounds ticket office.
The entertainment will conclude Sunday with the Cowboy Mounted Shooting Show at 1 p.m. The Illinana Rangers will produce the horse riding show filled with stunt riding, sharpshooting and explosions. The event is free.
The swap meet and flea market will take place all three days.
Valley Bash '09 will also have a food and beer garden. Campsites will be available for those wanting to attend the weekend event as well as those who are visiting the area during the Covered Bridge Festival.
