Jeffrey Lee Lawhorn, 51, Terre Haute, passed away early Friday morning Oct. 9, 2009, at Union Hospital.

He was born Sept. 9, 1958, in Brazil, to Ralph Lawhorn and Carol Sue (Wardenburg) Case.

Jeff loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and mushroom hunting. He was a United States Army veteran. He worked construction for many years.

He is survived by his mother, his loving wife, Tamra Sue (Schaffer) Lawhorn, children Jeffrey Lawhorn and wife Amy, Terre Haute, and Jessica Lawhorn, Brazil, siblings Steven Lawhorn and wife Debbie, Land O Lakes, Fla., Jerry Lawhorn and wife Melinda, Dade City, Fla., Joseph R. Davidson III, Marshall, Ill., and Gina Sue Dudley and husband David, Marshall, Ill.

Other survivors are grandchildren Arabella Lawhorn, Hadassah Lawhorn, both of Terre Haute, Allan Bradshaw, Brazil, special nieces and nephews Alexis, Lauren and Alex, all of Terre Haute, brother-in-laws Michael Schaffer and Mark Schaffer and wife Kerry, and father and mother-in-law Charles and Nancy Schaffer.

He was preceded in death by his father and stepfather Clarence Case.

Cremation has been chosen. A memorial service will take place Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, at 6 p.m., at Kings Harvest Church, 1801 Harding St., Terre Haute, with Pastor Dennis Leek officiating.

Roselawn Funeral Home assisted the family in making the arrangements.
