Eleanore Lemieux Woodley

Eleanore Lemieux Woodley, 75, Brazil, died Oct. 10, 2009, at 5:50 p.m., following a long battle with cancer.

She was born in Superior, Wis., Nov. 4, 1933, to John B. and Mary J. (Minness) Lemieux. After graduating from high school in Superior, she joined the United States Air Force. She served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1953. She married Richard Woodley Aug. 20, 1953. Her family moved from Brownsburg, Ind., to Terre Haute in 1966 where her kids attended St. Patrick's School and Schulte High School. Eleanore spent her life caring for her family and spending time with her friends. She was a former member of Tri Kappa and St. Patrick's Church in Terre Haute.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.

Survivors include her husband Richard, Brazil, children Donald F. Woodley (Karine), Indianapolis, Jackie Taylor, Terre Haute, and Richard G. Woodley, Brazil, grandchildren Corey Taylor, Terre Haute, Dustin Taylor, Brazil, Ellie Hightower, Terre Haute, Jamison Woodley and Christian Woodley, both of Indianapolis, great-grandchildren Jayce Taylor, Devon Taylor, Myles Taylor, Tate Cook and Journee Woodley, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Eleanore's family will be holding a private memorial service at a later date.
