He was born May 11, 1947, in Brazil, to Guido R. Ottolini and Anna Moore Ottolini Smith, both deceased. He graduated from Brazil High School (class of 1965) and IUPUI (Purdue in 1973). He served in the U.S. Army with the Headquarters 1st Medical Battalion at Fort Riley, Kan., and was discharged in 1971.
Don was recently recognized for 35 years of service with the State of Indiana, first with IOSHA and then with Workforce Development, including a stint as the LMI Interim Director. It was said by a former boss that Don was "a natural leader." As a leader, he had also served as a lay pastor at Calvary Temple of Indianapolis.
Don is survived by his wife Jan B. P. Ottolini, his son Gabriel Don Ottolini (wife Brittany), daughter Jessie McLain Ottolini, and granddaughter Braelyn Leigh Ottolini. He is also survived by members of the Lynch family of Brazil, and many Ottolini cousins. His smile, coined words, sage advice and kind heart will be greatly missed by family, high school, college, Army, work and church friends. He will be remembered for his unfailing commitment to God, family and friends. As a man of deep faith, Don's relentless efforts to help other people were fueled by his relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
