She was born Feb. 14, 1957, in Clay County, to John and Shirley (Young) Anderson. She graduated from Van Buren High School with the class of 1975. She married Tom Garrison April 23, 1976. She worked at The Brazil Times for 19 years. She also worked at Hoosier Homes as a receptionist and later at Northview High School working as a teacher's aide. She was a member of Carbon Baptist Church where she was active in the praise team. She enjoyed spending time with her family and spending time outside.
She is survived by her parents John and Shirley Anderson, husband Tom, three sons Justin Garrison and wife Carrie, Cody Garrison, and Jordan Garrison, all of Center Point, grandchildren Keegan and Nolan Garrison and Cain Garrison, sisters Jamie Pell and husband David, Carbon, Jana Lamar and husband Gary, Decatur, Ill., brothers J.C. Anderson and wife Theresa, Pittsboro, Ind., and Jeff Anderson, Edwardsville, Ill., as well as several nieces, nephews and many extended family members.
Services will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel, Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Howard Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday, from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carbon Baptist Church 14100 North Murphy Road, Carbon, Ind. 47837.
