Students received a special gift Wednesday.

Every third-grade student in the Clay Community School Corporation and Cornerstone Christian Academy received a Webster's Dictionary Wednesday, courtesy of the Brazil Rotary Club and the Wabash Valley Community Foundation.

"It is a worth-while program," Rotary Board Member Sam Glover said. "We have been doing this for the last six or seven years."

In total 365 dictionaries were passed out to eight elementary schools.

"The students have been anxiously looking forward to them," Staunton Elementary third-grade teacher Cheryl Turner said.

There were 14 volunteers from Rotary passing out the books to all eight elementary schools.

"Our motto is service above self," Rotary Member Sam Crawn said. "We believe in giving everything back to the community."
