TERRE HAUTE -- The Women's Professional Division of the United Way of the Wabash Valley will host the 2009 Power of the Purse luncheon from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 28, at the Hulman Civic Center.
The luncheon is in support of the United Way of the Wabash Valley's Success by 6 Program.
This year's event will begin with "Mocktails" and shopping at 11 a.m., followed by food stations opening at 11:30 and gift basket raffles and live auction at 12:30 p.m.
Numerous restaurants will participate in the luncheon this year, including: A Bit of Britain Tea Room, Beef O'Brady's, Carpsi's Italian Restaurant, Clabber Girl Bake Shop, Clabber Girl Culinary Division, Coffee Grounds, Corner Grind, Logan's Rib-eye, M. Mogger's Restaurant and Pub, Navarro's, Olive Garden, Rick's Smokehouse and Grill, Ritter's Frozen Custard, Saratoga Restaurant, Country Club of Terre Haute, Farrington Bed and Breakfast, Honey Baked Ham, J. Ford's Black Angus, Sonic America's Drive-in, 7th and Elm Bar and Grill and Umi Grill and Sushi Bar.
The event this year is chaired by Lori Danielson of Clabber Girl.
"The Power of the Purse is a great networking event to bring women of the Wabash Valley together," Danielson said. "I am so excited to be able to dedicate my time to such a worthwhile cause."
