Waterman will speak at the Clay County Senior Center, 120 S. Franklin St., Brazil, at 7 p.m., Monday.
The event is sponsored by the Clay County Republican Club and the public is invited to attend.
Waterman will speak about the important issues he sees facing our state. There will also be an opportunity for people to ask questions of the Senator.
Waterman was first elected to the Indiana Senate in 1994. He serves District 39, which includes portions of Clay, Greene, Knox, Daviess, Owen, Sullivan and Vigo counties. He serves as the ranking member of the Governmental Affairs and Interstate Cooperation Committee.
He also serves on the Agriculture and Small Business Committee, the Criminal and Civil Procedures and Public Policy Committee, the Public Affairs Subcommittee, the Interstate Cooperation Subcommittee, and the Natural Resources Committee.
In the past legislative session, Waterman was recognized for achieving an outstanding voting attendance record of 99.6 percent during the regular legislative session.
Waterman previously served as the Sullivan County Sheriff from 1986-94.
The meeting is part of the Republican Club's on-going speaker series. Previous speakers this year have included Department of Natural Resources Director Rob Carter, Clay County Assessor Mark Barnhart, Clay County Treasurer Debbie James, Clay County Sheriff Mike Heaton, Clay County Prosecutor Lee Reberger, District 37 Senator Richard Bray, and United States Senator candidate Marlin Stuzman.
Clay County Council member Larry Moss will speak at the November event, tentatively scheduled for Nov. 16.
