George H. Trout

George H. Trout, 75, Staunton, passed away at 6 p.m., Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, at his home with family nearby.

He was born Jan. 18, 1934, as the son of Otis Grover and Grace (James) Trout. He graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1951.

He was employed at the Allisons Plant in Indianapolis until he was drafted in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed at Ft. Sill, Okla., in the Fifth Armored Division.

On June 13, 1954, he was united in marriage to Carol Ann McQueen. They celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary in June of this year. George was a member of the Praire City United Brethran Church (now United Methodist Church) and also attended Staunton Christian Church.

In later years, he was a Clay County Abstractor and Common Wealth Title Insurance agent. He had also been superintendent of Clearview Cemetery on State Road 340 for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Wayne, James, Vincent (Bing) and Elmer Trout.

He is survived by his wife Carol Ann, son Samuel J. and wife Janet (Love) Trout, Brazil, sisters Norma Cox, Austin, Texas, and Mary Lou Evans, Independence, Mo., brothers Richard Trout and wife Cathy, Surgoinsville, Tenn., and Ron Trout and wife Vickie, Brazil, sisters-in-law Joy Trout, Brazil, and Georgetta Trout, Harmony, and many extended family members.

Visitation will be noon-2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Moore Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, with Pastor Doug Parkey officiating.

Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery.
