Local ventriloquist performs at Puppet Ministry Festival

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

Randy Hughes recently attended One Way Street's Indianapolis area Puppet Ministry Festival. These festivals are held in locations all over the United States throughout the year. This year's theme is "Reflecting Christ" and is based on 2 Corinthians 3:18. "But we Christians have no veil over our faces; we can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord. And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like Him."

Randy, along with Popcorn, one of his Rascals, performed a ventriloquist act. Popcorn sang to the tune of Frank Sinatra's "New York, New York," but used lyrics that Randy wrote about "Last Days, Last Days." They both wore a "Sinatra" fedora, black shirts, and matching silver ties. They competed in the Creative Ministry division, and were awarded a Silver award.

Randy has a puppet ministry called Randy's Rascals. His puppet ministry is sponsored by Destiny Harvest Ministry Center located on Wabash Avenue in Terre Haute. He has performed at the Orville Redenbacher's Popcorn Festival, rehabilitation centers, schools, Honey Creek Mall, and churches.
