All local food establishments must have at least one certified food handler employed in the operation and who has the oversight responsibility for all periods of operation.
A ServSafe Managers certification class will take place Saturday, Dec. 5, in Spencer at the Owen County Extension Office, 180 S. Washington St.
The class is being offered in conjunction with the Owen County Health Department and Kathy Reid, Certified ServSafe Instructor and Proctor.
Cost is $150 for the class, book and exam. For those individuals who wish to take the exam only, cost is $55. A minimum of five people must be registered for the class to take place.
Test exams will be offered in English or Spanish.
