Ellen Jean Green, 54, formerly of West Terre Haute, and Brazil, and currently of Terre Haute, passed away at Terre Haute Regional Hospital, Nov. 3, 2009, at 6:43 p.m., following a long battle with Muscular Dystrophy.
She was born in Brazil, Sept. 8, 1955, to John William "Bill" and Doris Evelyn (Bond) Green.
Ellen graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1974. Following high school, she joined the Air National Guard. She was a member of the Active Guard Reserve at Hulman Field in Terre Haute. She retired from the military in 1998. In her free time, Ellen enjoyed counted cross stitch.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Wesley Green, and sister Evelyn Sadler.
Survivors include her sisters Johna Lumsdon and husband Don, Brazil, and Stephanie Peterson and husband Jerry, Terre Haute, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Services for Ellen will be at French Funeral Home, Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Doug Parkey officiating. Burial will follow at Croy's Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home, Saturday, from 11 a.m. until time of services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
