According to a proclamation signed by Brazil Mayor Ann Bradshaw, November 2009 is now Northview Marching Knights Pride Month.
The Marching Knights captured their eighth overall Class B state title Oct. 31 and second-straight. The win marked the third time the Knights have won back-to-back state titles.
The proclamation read as follows:
"Whereas, the Northview Marching Knights, on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, won a State Championship, placing number One in the State in Class B ISSMA State Finals;
Whereas, the band, guard and percussion members of the Northview Marching Knights are to be congratulated for their hard work, sweat and undoubted dedication to the Northview Marching Knights;
Whereas, Robert Medworth, Ruth Ann Medworth, Rusty Bottomley and all staff members are to be congratulated for their hard work and dedication leading our children to be state champions;
Whereas, the parents, grandparents and family of our Northview Marching Knights are to be congratulated for their hard work and dedication, also a huge thank you for Jess Redifer driving the semi for 16 years;
Whereas, all parents helping out with uniforms, loading, unloading and setting up props on or off the field are to be congratulated for their hard work and dedication;
Whereas, the Northview Marching Knights with 126 band members and 36 guard members are to be commended with the show entitled, 'Versus;'
Now, therefore, be it resolved that I, A. Ann Bradshaw, Mayor, City of Brazil, do hereby proclaim November 2009 as Northview Marching Knights Pride Month, and encourage citizens to show their Northview Marching Knight Pride."
