Local Artist, Ron Riggan was selected to participate, and be showcased in the Ivy Tech, Columbus, School of Design Art Show. The event was drawn from 35 years of students.
The exhibit, "Exceeding Expectations," showcases the works of 25 of its alumni. All told, 52 pieces of art will be on display.
The pieces represent alumni dating from 1974, who now serve as as well-known commercial, portrait and new photographers, graphic designers, administrators, owners of advertising and multimedia agencies, designers of furniture and fabric lines, catalog and magazine illustrators and web/interactive designers. A variety of types of art will be displayed, including photography, graphic design, website design, oil landscapes, furniture and pop-art graphics.
A native Hoosier and award-winning artist, Riggan has lived in the Wabash Valley for the last eight years. He got an early start by studying at the Herron School of Art, then Ivy Tech Columbus for degrees in Photography and Graphic Design.
He previously worked as a staff photographer for Public Service Indiana, and has designed pencils, notebooks, greeting cards, books and websites, as well as clip art. He has a studio in southern Clay county.
