Marjorie L. Kittle, 97, Clay City, died Nov. 10, 2009, at Union Hospital.
She was born in Clay City, July 28, 1912, to Frank and Ruth (Johnson) Edmondson. Marjorie married Israel "Curley" Kittle May 4, 1935.
She spent her life raising and caring for her family. Marjorie was a lifetime member of New Hope Baptist Church. She was currently serving as the oldest member of the church. The church was built on her grandfather Johnson's property.
She was preceded in death by her husband Israel Kittle, sisters Iola Edmondson and Doris Edmondson, brothers Paul Edmondson, Gerald Edmondson and Henry Edmondson, and granddaughters Doris Stantz and Beth Kittle Atkinson.
Survivors include her children Carol Stantz (Howard), Spencer, Kathleen Gibson (James), Florida, Keith Kittle (Connie), Brazil, Conrad Kittle (Pam), Martz, 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and cousins Lois Weaver Ley and Velma Bailey Goshorn.
Services will take place at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, Clay City, Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Nathan Couch officiating. Burial will follow at Sink Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday, from 11 a.m. until time of services.
